PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN HELSINKI

Information on public transport is available from the Helsinki City Transport (HKL) website and from the service point at the Rautatientori metro station, upper level.

Public transport in the metropolitan area

The conference is situated in the very centre of Helsinki, close to railway station for where the commuter trains arrive, as well as the tram, metro and bus stops. You can download an overview of tram and metrostops from the City of Helsinki website.

From the City of Helsinki website you can use the Journey Planner for a route search.

GETTING TO HELSINKI

Arriving by plane

The main airport Helsinki-Vantaa lies 20 km north of Helsinki.

Downtown transfers :
  • the city terminal of Finnair airport buses at Elielinaukio, driving time 30 minutes.
  • Local bus no 615, terminus at the Railway Square, platform no 5, driving time 35 minutes.
  • Taxi 25 minutes.

Arriving by train

The main railwaystation lies approximately 0,3 km from  the conference hall. More information about international trains on the  VR website.

Arriving by boat

On the Tallinn - Helsinki shipping route you can use ships of the Tallink or Silja Line, from the passenger terminal West Terminal (Länsiterminaali). Boatschedules are available.


VENUE

The Conference  will be held at Parliament of Finland, Eduskunnan lisärakennus, Arkadiankatu 3. You can find the location of the Parliament on the Helsinki City Map. The Parliament House is highlighted when "Buildings and architecture" is selected; it is a large building with columns along the front. The Annex, where the conference room is located, is the newer building next to the main Parliament and across the road called Pohjoinen rautatienkatu (or Norra Jämvägsgaten in Swedish).
